Supply distribution[edit]

Ontology has a centralized token distribution plan managed by the founding team because they did not have an ICO and they do not have a programmatic way of releasing new coins, like mining rewards. The Ontology token distribution is controlled and managed by the Ontology team.

  • Community: 12%
  • Co-Builders (institutional partners): 28%
  • NEO Council: 10%
  • Ecosystem Development: 25%
  • Technical Community Reward: 10%
  • Core Team: 15%

Matrix model[edit]

Ontology proposed a public blockchain architecture which is not composed of a single chain but instead multiple public service and application chains in a matrix model. A chain network system can allow for specialized expansion, tasks to be divisively performed, and expansion through different protocol groups. Ontology wants to provide infrastructure for common services, such as entity mapping, data exchange, smart contract services, etc., through one or more chains.
