Trezor Wiki/User/User manual/ Transferring assets to Trezor

This article contains information about how to safely transfer your cryptocurrency funds into an account protected by your Trezor device.

If you already own cryptocurrency assets in a wallet somewhere, you can send them to an account secured by your Trezor device using a receiving address generated in Trezor Wallet and confirmed on your Trezor device. For detailed instructions, see User manual:Receiving payments.

If you do not own any cryptocurrency assets yet, you will have to get them. One way to buy them is to use a cryptocurrency ATM. For this, you will need the QR code for one of your accounts. You can print the QR code out and use it with the ATM to change cash into a cryptocurrency.

There are also many online exchanges where you can change fiat currencies for cryptocurrencies. To see guidelines for using Trezor with Bitstamp, go to Apps:Bitstamp. Most exchanges also offer to hold your assets for you in their web wallet. This is not recommended, as many people have lost their funds during security breaches of such services. If you buy funds online, always send them to accounts protected by your Trezor immediately after purchase. You can also buy bitcoins in a peer-to-peer exchange, e.g. here.

ImportantPlease keep in mind that it is not possible to transfer fiat currencies directly to your Trezor.
